PHYTOREMEDIATION OF FLUORIDE-CONTAMINATED WATER BY Landoltia punctata

چکیده
Fluorine is released into the water environment naturally or by anthropogenic activities. promotes health benefits at low concentrations, but it adverse effects ranging from fluorosis to carcinogenic problems high concentrations. Although fluorine removal can occur through processes such as adsorption, reverse osmosis, and electrodialysis, phytoremediation emerges an accessible environmentally friendly treatment. This research aimed study potential of Landoltia punctata for treating contaminated with ion (fluoride). The central composite rotatable design was used assess effect three variables in process: pH 5 9; phosphate concentration 0 10 mg L−1; nitrate 800 L−1. plants were exposed a fluoride initial L-1 3L-vessels that also included Clark's solution period days. Experimentally, up 21% observed supplied fluoride. Values order 30% removed mass be predicted obtained model. promising candidate fluoride-contaminated waters.

متن کاملImproving Production of Bioethanol from Duckweed (Landoltia punctata) by Pectinase Pretreatment
Landoltia punctata, a widely distributed duckweed strain with the ability to accumulate starch, was used as a novel feedstock for bioethanol production by Saccharomyces cerevisiae. To improve ethanol production, pectinase pretreatment was used to release much more glucose from L. punctata mash and the pretreatment conditions (enzyme loading, temperature and pretreatment time) for the duckweed w...
متن کاملCadmium Phytoremediation by Arundo donax L. from Contaminated Soil and Water
The potential of Arundo donax L. for phytoextraction of cadmium (Cd) from contaminated soil and water was probed. The plants were grown under greenhouse conditions in pots containing a nutrient solution or soil with increasing doses of Cd (0, 50, 100, 250, 500, 750, and 1000 μg L(-1)) for 21 days. The growth and physiology of plants were evaluated at the end of the experiment. The maximum Cd co...

Phytoremediation is a potential cleanup technology for the removal of heavy metals from contaminated soils. Bidens maximowicziana is a new Pb hyperaccumulator, which not only has remarkable tolerance to Pb but also extraordinary accumulation capacity for Pb. The maximum Pb concentration was 1509.3 mg/kg in roots and 2164.7 mg/kg in overground tissues. The Pb distribution order in the B. maximow...
متن کاملPhytoremediation of mercury-contaminated soils by Jatropha curcas.
Jatropha curcas plants species were tested to evaluate their phytoremediation capacity in soils contaminated by different levels of mercury. The experimental treatments consisted of four levels of mercury concentrations in the soil - T0, T1, T5, and T10 (0, 1, 5, and 10 μg Hg per g soil, respectively). The total mercury content absorbed by the different plant tissues (roots, stems and leaves) w...
